Maruti Suzuki Ciaz sales jump a mammoth 4,894 per cent in July 2019

At a time when passenger vehicle sales are by and large going south, there is one car that has been doing reasonably well and it is none other than Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. The country's largest carmaker recently reported a sixth consecutive monthly sales decline, with the numbers dropping 33.5 per cent to 1,09,264 units in July 2019.
Maruti Suzuki India sold 98,210 units in the domestic market in July 2019. While the sales to other domestic OEMs stood at 1,796 units, the export sales numbered at 9,258 units.
The carmaker sells vehicles across segments like mini (Alto and old WagonR), compact (new WagonR, Celerio, Ignis, Swift, Baleno and Dzire), mid-size (Ciaz), utility vehicles (Gypsy, Ertiga, Vitara Brezza and S-Cross), vans (Omni and Eeco) and light commercial vehicle (Super Carry).
Maruti Suzuki India sold 2,397 units of Ciaz in July 2019. The figure is 4,893.8 per cent higher than mere 48 units sold in July 2018. Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is available with three engine options. There is a 1.5-litre K15 Smart Hybrid petrol engine that makes 105 hp and 138 Nm of torque. It is offered with 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmission options. There is a 1.5-litre DDiS 225 diesel mill that delivers 70 hp and 225 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Then there is the 1.3-litre DDiS 200 Smart Hybrid diesel motor that churns out 90 hp and 200 Nm of torque. It comes with a 5-speed manual transmission.
